April 23, 2021

Brian Pitre is the co-founder and CEO of SkyOp.com which offers drone training courseware, certification test prep, and flight training for drones and small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS).

He is also a serial entrepreneur and member of the Forbes Technology Council, an invitation-only community for world-class CIOs, CTOs and technology executives. In this role, he recently had two Forbes articles published: Getting Started with Drones: What Business Leaders Need to Know and STEM Drone Programs Are Creating Career Pathways For Today’s Modern Workforce
In his article, Brian shares:
“My interest in drones began in June 2012 after reading an article in Wired called Here Come The Drones. I learned everything I could about them for the next three months, and the common wisdom at the time was that drones were primarily used for taking photos and videos from interesting aerial perspectives. Early adopters saw the business potential to produce wonderful real estate presentations.”Brian continues to offer advice and insights from how to get started with drones to impacts in education and advancements in the industry. Specifically, he believes most companies will be using drones in the next five years. As a result, he think educators need to be more aware of the rapidly changing tech landscape and equip students with the skills to harness drone technologies that will be in high demand for employers in the near future.

SkyOp was a participant in the GENIUS NY accelerator program at The Tech Garden.
