Entrepreneurial Manager, Community Connector & Adventure Seeker
Ever wonder who’s behind some of the best startup support at the innovation hub? Meet Becca Breeden, our entrepreneurial manager, working closely with startups in the GENIUS NY program. We asked Becca five quick questions to get to know her better—here’s what she had to say!
1. How do you help clients in our programs?
🛠️ Becca: I help startups navigate the challenges of scaling their businesses—whether that’s securing resources, making key connections or organizing workshops and events that connect them to the local community. My role is all about supporting founders and empowering them to turn their goals into reality.
2. What excites you most about the new Innovation Hub space?
🏗️ Becca: I want it to be more than just an office—I envision it as a collaborative hub where the community comes together to spark creativity, innovation and cutting-edge technology. I can’t wait to see founders build, test and refine their ideas every day all around me.
3. What’s your favorite thing about living in Syracuse?
🍂 Becca: The people and the seasons! Syracuse has a diverse, supportive community, and experiencing all four seasons—from summer at the lakes to snowy winter days—makes life here even more special. Coming from California, I love the variety.
3. Favorite downtown Syracuse spot?
🍽️ Becca: So many great choices! I love dinner at The York, coffee chats at Salt City Coffee, and treats from Sweet Praxis—if you haven’t been, it’s a must-visit!
4. What do you like to do outside of work?
🧘 Becca: When I’m not working with my amazing coworkers, you can find me knitting, practicing yoga or going on adventures—whether it’s weekend road trips, finding the best café, or traveling around the world for inspiration. I also love spending time with friends and family and making the most of the CNY seasons, which look very different from my hometown in California—so let me know your favorites!
