WexEnergy is a woman owned business and proud that WindowSkins are 100% manufactured in New York State and the USA.
WexEnergy, a TTG member and Clean Tech Center participant, recently announced that the company has started shipping its first WindowSkin orders. WindowSkin is an affordable window upgrade which takes a single-pane window to double-pane energy efficiency and a double-pane window to triple-pane energy efficiency at about 15% of the cost of window replacements. At this time, WindowSkins are being sold into the property management
and educational building markets. The company anticipates opening sales to consumers in about 18-24
months.
School Apartments, an affordable housing complex for seniors. Patrick Rock, owner of Rock PMC, purchased
WindowSkins to provide additional comfort for his tenants and to reduce energy consumption and costs. Rock
has invested in attic insulation and new boilers at this property but the cost of replacing windows was simply
too expensive. “One of the greatest challenges is financially justifying energy efficient improvements,” said Rock. “WexEnergy definitely has a good argument for purchasing the WindowSkin product given today’s low energy pricing and WindowSkin’s affordable pricing!“WindowSkins can be installed by a building’s regular maintenance crew. Ron Wexler, CTO & Founder of
WexEnergy designed WindowSkins so installation could be handled by on-site maintenance personnel. As Dr.
Wexler said, “it had to be easy!”
In late 2019, WexEnergy anticipates bringing on its first certified WindowSkin installers to assist building owners who do not have staff available for installations.
WexEnergy LLC is a Rochester, NY clean energy startup company intent on developing affordable solutions to improving energy efficiency at the building envelope level. As has been widely reported, buildings are responsible for 39% of carbon emissions. Yet only a few percent of old windows are replaced each year. Ron Wexler, Ph.D., CTO and Founder of WexEnergy, set out to find an affordable solution to replacing windows. His answer was WindowSkin, which is covered by an extensive patent portfolio including 4 issued US patents, multiple pending US and foreign patent applications and trademark allowance in the US.
