The Tech Garden Brings Ideation Workshop to SUNY Oswego

March 8, 2019

The Tech Garden’s Ideation Workshop traveled north to SUNY Oswego’s first Penfield Library Grand Challenges Makeathon. The workshop took place before the Makeathon for students to learn how ideas are made, assessed and realized into sustainable businesses. It also explored and demonstrated topics including brainstorming, problem identification, self-awareness, idea selection, validation and concept development.
The Makeathon encouraged students to develop teams and find creative solutions to the college’s Grand Challenge of Fresh Water for All. The Makeathon was modeled after hackathons where participants work together for a limited time period to brainstorm and create a project.Looking ahead, The Tech Garden plans to customize the Ideation Workshop for more colleges and universities around the region.
